To clear your Java cache,

1.

Open the Macintosh Hard Drive, go to "Applications", and then open the "Utilities" Folder.

Open the "Java" folder and then double-click on the "Java Plugin Settings" icon. For Java 1.5, double-click on the "J2SE 5.0" folder.
Note: You may have multiple versions of Java installed on your computer, in which case you will see multiple icons, e.g. "Java 1.3.1 Plugin Settings," "Java 1.4.2 Plugin Settings," and "J2SE 5.0." It is always a good idea to clear the caches all of the versions of Java that you may have.

For Java 1.3.1:

Click on the tab marked "Cache".

Click on the "Clear JAR Cache" button.

Click "OK" in the popup confirmation window.

Close the Control Panel.

For Java 1.4.2:

Click on the tab marked "Cache".

Click on the "Clear" button in the right-hand side of the window.

Click "Yes" in the popup confirmation window.

Close the Control Panel.

For Java 1.5:

Double-clicking on the "J2SE 5.0" folder icon will open the folder. Once it opens, double-click on the "Java Preferences.app" icon.

In the new window that opens, click on the "Delete Files..." button in the "Temporary Internet Files" section at the bottom of the window.

A dialog will open. Make sure that all the boxes are checked and then click on the "OK" button to close the confirmation window.

Close the "Java Preferences" window.
